Knife maker with passion
My name is Alexander Kremer , and I'm a knifemaker, designer, and engineer from Fulda, Germany. I started making knives as a schoolboy. Influenced by Scandinavian models , clear geometry , and functional design, I create practical, versatile, and durable tools. In collaboration with Böker and Daily Knives , series such as the AK1, AK2, and AK4 have been developed. At the heart of my work are a well-thought-out construction , convincing ergonomics , and uncompromising performance .

The first knife
It all started with my first knife and a knife-making kit that my father gave me during a holiday in Finland. It was a simple stick knife with a birchwood handle. This was then painstakingly shaped into a rough handle in my basement. I still needed help with the gluing and leather sheath making back then, but the foundation had been laid.
If it works once, why not again? And why not build the blade yourself?
That was the beginning of my passion for knife making , which continues to this day and drives me to build good, practical and beautiful cutting tools .
From file to belt sander
Practice makes perfect.
Anyone who has ever worked on a piece of tool steel with a file, saw, and drill knows that this work can be very time-consuming and frustrating . Eventually, the possibilities in my father's and grandfather's workshop were exhausted, not to mention the dust and dirt.
So I needed my own workshop . I had found a spot in my grandparents' garage during my mechanical engineering studies, and it wasn't long before I had just a single belt sander .
Today I can replicate almost all processes of knifemaking : sawing, grinding, hardening, milling, welding, 3D printing, and more. This enables the production of unique pieces, small series, and prototypes, all handcrafted.

Collaborations & Series
In addition to manufacturing my own knives, I collaborate with selected partners.
The AK1 to AK4 models were created in collaboration with Dailycustoms/Dailyknives from Hamburg, and were developed jointly.
The blades and complete knives are manufactured at Böker in Solingen , while handle scales and other accessories come from Hamburg.
The special feature lies not only in the enormous combination possibilities that result from different handle variations and blade shapes, but also in the possibility of obtaining blades that I have reground .
This serves partly to change the appearance, but also – depending on the version – to further improve performance , which is unique among series products.
However, the high level of vertical integration in Germany and Europe is also important to me and a defining point of my collaborations.
Thank you very much
Looking back and looking ahead
Many friends and family members accompanied and supported me on my journey to creating my own knife workshop.
What began as a small knife kit has evolved significantly over the years.
In the future, I would like to further deepen my work on functional and aesthetic cutting tools and make the Kremer Tools brand better known beyond Germany.
Special thanks go to my long-time friends who always answer "Yes!" to the question "Do I really need this new tool?!".
